Deadline:

Important Voting Rules

Candidates or their assistants should not collect completed voting documents from any elector (voter). That would be an illegal vote.  Each individual voter must post their own voting document.

Voting Period:

Voting mailers will be delivered to electors from Tuesday 27 July 2021, and it is expected to take 5 working days to complete delivery.

The voting mailer will contain a voting document, a prepaid return envelope and a candidate profile sheet.

Should any elector not receive their voting mailer by Monday 2 August 2021, then that elector should call our office on 0800 922 822 and a special voting document will be issued.

Special voting documents will also be available from the following locations:

  • Customer Services, Hamilton City Council, Municipal Building, Garden Place, Hamilton;
  • Hillcrest Library, 58 Masters Avenue, Hillcrest, Hamilton;
  • Chartwell Library, Lynden Court, Queenwood, Hamilton.

The three week voting period is from Tuesday 27 July 2021 to 12 noon, Wednesday 18 August 2021.

All completed voting documents must be in the electoral officer’s (or appointed electoral officials’) hands by 12 noon, Wednesday 18 August 2021.

How To Return Voting Documents:

Electors will be able to return their voting document either:

  • through the postal system using the freepost envelope provided in the voting mailer; or
